The Hammer kicked off his fifth season in 2004 in Florida with two top ten finishes, beating 2002 Nascar Champ Tony Stewart, winning two Hard Charger Awards, and did it all on a race broadcast on radio and streamed on the Internet - all within a stone's throw of the Birthplace of Speed, Daytona International Speedway. National media, including SPEED TV and their racing daily show, SPEED TV News covered the kickoff of our 2004 campaign.

Hammer Hits Homerun
Tampa Bay, Florida April 26, 2003 - 16 year-old 2003 Winter National Young Gun Champion Hammer Martin hit another home run with a Feature Event win at Florida's East Bay Raceway Park www.EastBayRacewayPark.com . Driving the DUIFla.com, LLC / Martin Structures, Inc. 360 Sprint Car and starting from outside Row 2, Hammer ran with the big dogs, in a high horsepower, seriously slippery, slidefest. Fellow competitor, Casey Johnson, did an endo during the heat race, borrowed a wing from Hammer, who helped him set the car up, in a great showing of sportsmanship. Torrential rains, less than 24 hours before the event did not prevent Promoter Al Varnadore from prepping the track for a full schedule of events. A great evening of exciting short track action.

Hammer Pounds it Out in Twisted Metal Melee
August 2, 2003 Inverness, FL - Sarasota, Florida's Tough TBARA rookie, Hammer Martin, won one, then finished the feature, getting double-teamed in a Reutimann sandwich in a twisted-metal melee that sent three cars up and out of the park.
Hammer ripped fast lap of the heat races - 11.83 seconds at 100.42 mph. The Milk Movers, Inc., Putnam County Speedway, Martin Structures, Inc., DuiFla.com LLC Motorsports, Hurricane chassis finished without a scratch in what will be remembered as an expensive night at the track for some.
In only his third outing ever on the tarmac, Hammer drove his purple pavement pounding sprinter to the lead for over half of the feature, before the legendary Reutimann's showed the astonished crowd why they are destined for the Sprint Car Hall of Fame. This was Hammer's first trip to the popular Citrus County Speedway.
